Project Guitar: Back in The Saddle Edition

What inspired this punny title?  My hunt for the correct bridge saddles for this silly project guitar I have going.

Just to catch up, the last thing I did was basically strip the guitar and glue a new nut in place.  I also bought some parts.  Some tuning keys and some bridge saddles.  As it would turn out for a guitar repair n00b such as myself, I bought the wrong size of both.  So I wound up doing a bit of research and some measuring and came to the conclusion I needed narrow saddles, but I wasn't ready to spend another $25 on something I wasn't 100% would fit so I could have more useless parts around.

Fast forward a couple months, and I still haven't done anything with them.  That changed on Tuesday, though as I was out of town going to my buddy Chris' senior recital and I happened to stop by Guitar Center to kill some time before it started.  Asked them if they had any narrow saddles.  The guy showed me the only saddles they had in stock.  Turned out to be narrow ones.  So I went ahead and picked 'em up.

The next day I took the bridge into work, and to my excitement, they fit!  I was so excited!  So when I got back home, I bolted it into my guitar and voila!  One step closer to looking like a guitar!

So I guess my next step is to get the holes where the tuners go to be the correct size so I can put those in and put strings on it and see what happens.

Until next time!
Mike
